How to Find Supportive Community While Grieving

Grief often changes the way we experience connection, relationships, and community. Many grieving people find themselves feeling isolated, misunderstood, or unsure where to turn for support, especially after substance-related loss.

This interactive psychoeducational workshop is based on our guide, “Finding Supportive Community While Grieving.” Together, we explore the many ways support can look while grieving, including peer support groups, one-on-one connection, professional counseling, community spaces, online support, and everyday relationship-building.

This workshop is designed for grieving individuals, supporters, peer helpers, professionals, and anyone wanting to better understand the role of compassionate community in grief. Participants will leave with practical ideas for building support systems that feel authentic, accessible, and meaningful to them.
