Psychoeducational Workshops

Learn more about grief, coping, and support after substance-related loss

Our psychoeducational workshop series provides an opportunity for anyone to learn about topics related to losing a loved one to substance-related causes. Whether you are bereaved and are looking to better understand your experience and identify coping skills, or you are looking to help somebody you care about who is grieving, you are welcome to attend these workshops.

We offer live workshops, recordable workshops, and on-demand workshops so people can access support and learning in the way that fits their needs.

Live Psychoeducational Workshops

These workshops are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm ET. They are held with a live audience, are highly interactive, and are not recorded to ensure maximum privacy for participants.

These workshops are sponsored by the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) and are free of charge to any individual living in Massachusetts. For those outside Massachusetts, there is a $10 fee. If cost is an issue, please reach out to Laura@peersupportcommunitypartners.com.

What to expect

Live workshops provide space to learn, reflect, and engage with others around grief-related topics while protecting participant privacy.

  • Fourth Tuesday of each month
  • 6:30 to 8:00 pm ET
  • Highly interactive
  • Not recorded
  • Free for Massachusetts residents with promo code MASS

Recording Sessions for the Workshop Library

PSCP offers live psychoeducational workshops on the fourth Tuesday of each month on Zoom. These workshops cover a variety of topics related to losing a loved one to substance use and are not recorded to respect everyone’s privacy. However, many people cannot attend live and need another way to access these resources.

To meet this need, PSCP offers facilitated sessions of previous workshop topics on the third Wednesday of each month from 5:00 to 6:30 pm ET. These sessions are free to attend regardless of whether or not you are located in Massachusetts.

Please note that these sessions are recorded and added to PSCP’s On-Demand Psychoeducational Workshop Library. By participating, attendees acknowledge that their image, likeness, and comments may be included in the recording, which will be distributed at the sole discretion of Peer Support Community Partners.

What to expect

These sessions make it possible for PSCP to build the on-demand workshop library while still offering a facilitated workshop experience.

  • Third Wednesday of each month
  • 5:00 to 6:30 pm ET
  • Free regardless of location
  • Recorded and added to the on-demand workshop library
  • Participants should be comfortable having their image, likeness, and comments included in the recording
